Seismic Orchestration

POST /org/members

Invite a user by email. The row is always created in pending state and the invitee must explicitly accept via POST /users/me/invitations/{id}/accept before membership exists. Admins cannot silently attach a user (even one who already has a Seismic account) to the org.

Seismic sends the invitee a notification email with a link to accept. The send is best-effort: a delivery failure does not fail the request (the pending row still appears in GET /org/members). If the invitee never receives the email, an admin can resend it via POST /org/invitations/{invitation_id}/resend.

Requires admin or owner role.

Request body

{
  "email": "carol@acme.com",
  "role": "member"
}
FieldTypeNotes
emailstringRequired.
role"admin" | "member" | "viewer"Default: "member". Cannot invite as "owner". Ownership transfers via PATCH. Admins can only invite as "member" or "viewer". Only an owner can invite an "admin".

Response 200: the new OrgMembership in pending shape: user_id: null, invitation_id: <uuid>.

Errors: 400 (invalid email/role), 403 (not allowed to invite at this role), 409 (user is already a member).
